If you've got a bit of spare time on the weekend, why not treat yourself to an at home manicure?
If you're a bit stuck on where to start... here's what I usually do!
1. File your nails. If you have a bit of time, it's nice to use a manicure set as it's much quicker and easier, but a standard nail file will do a great job too. Then buff your nails for a clean and smooth finish!
2. Apply a cuticle remover, leave it on for 30 seconds and remove.
3. Treat your hands! I usually apply hand cream before painting my nails but you could also do it at the very end if you prefer.
4. Apply cuticle oil. OPI's Avoplex oil is my all time fave, as it leaves your cuticles smooth and nourished, just make sure to massage it in well so that it absorbs quickly.
5. Apply a base coat. Especially if you're going for a darker nail colour, to make sure it doesn't stain your nails.
6. Nail Polish or Wraps. I love both options or even a mix of the two... you could apply nail polish on 3 - 4 of your nails and go for nail wraps on the remaining few.
7. If you need to, clean up the edges of your nails. You can use a cotton bud with some nail polish remover, or something like Sally Hansen's Manicure Clean-Up Pen. Both ways are great and make a huge difference.
8. Seal everything in with a fast drying top coat. I'm absolutely obsessed with Seche Vite at the moment.
