YOUNIQUE MASCARA REVIEW - AMAZING LASHES IN 3 MINUTES

Recently I have been testing out the Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes mascara* by Younique – the results are amazing so of course I had to do a review!

How To Apply

Step 1 – Apply an even coat of the Transplanting Gel (7ml) to your eyelashes.
Step 2 – Apply the 3D Fibres (0.5g) straight afterwards, while the Transplanting Gel is wet.
Step 3 – Seal the 3D Fibres with the Transplanting Gel.

You can also then repeat steps 2 and 3 until you reach your desired fullness.

Review (Confessing my love)

First things first, I love the packaging. The mascara comes in a lovely box, which has clear instructions on the application of the product inside. The two mascara tubes also come with a little Younique bag to store them in, which makes it a lot easier to find them in your makeup bag or make up storage and it means you can always keep them together.

The application is easy and very quick; it just involves layering the Transplanting Gel and the 3D Fibres a couple of times and you are done!

Every time I use this mascara I get amazing results so it has quickly become an essential in my makeup bag. I find that layering the little 3D Fibres on my eyelashes adds length and makes them appear a lot thicker and fuller. I now don’t need to reach for fake eyelashes nearly as often, because the 3D Fiber Lashes mascara makes my own lashes look amazing and long!

SHOPDIXI HAUL

I always fall in love with the jewellery on the Shopdixi instagram page, so the inevitable happened and I finally made a little online order (which consisted of two rose gold necklaces, linked below).

My parcel arrived within a couple of days and the jewellery came in gorgeous packaging too, so I definitely recommend placing an order, especially if (like me) you've been considering it for a while!

KARORA COSMETICS EXPRESS BRONZING MOUSSE - AKA THE BEST FAKE TAN I'VE USED

Today's post is all about the Karora Cosmetics Express Bronzing Mousse* which I've been testing (and absolutely loving), and the reasons why it quickly became the best fake tan I've ever used.

- Application -

The first thing I recommend doing is using a good body scrub which means that your skin will be well prepared for a smoother application, making your tan look a lot more even!

Once you're ready to apply, make sure that your hands are covered (with gloves or a mitt), then pump out the product and massage it in to the skin. I especially recommend taking extra care around the elbows and hands for an even appearance.

Then all you have to do is wait! The amount of time will depend on how much you'd like the tan to develop for, but as a guide the instructions on the bottle say 'Shower after 1 hour for a light glow, after 2 hours for deeper colour and after 3 hours for a rich dark bronze'.

It's also worth noting that the colour continues to develop after rinsing.

- Results -

There are many reasons why this fake tan is the best I've tried. The first is that it's just so quick and easy to apply, which also makes it perfect to use for any last minute situations!

It's also great because the outcome is amazing - the colour is beautiful and natural, and the finish is smooth and even. As well as that, it dries really quickly after application which makes it feel very comfortable on the skin while you wait for it to develop.

I'd honestly recommend the Express Bronzing Mousse* to anyone on the hunt for a new fake tan, and I'll be ordering myself another bottle of this very soon!

You can purchase it here (UK) : Lloyds Pharmacy (£26.99)
Or find the worldwide list of stockists here : Where To Buy

Karmase7en.com REVIEW - FAKE SEPTUM CLICKERS

I recently got the opportunity to review a couple of the Karma Se7en Fake Septum Clickers, so today's post is all about this new trend for summer 2015!

The two I chose are the Celestial Filigree Fake Septum Clicker* (£4.95) and the Golden Acerose Filigree Fake Septum Clicker* (£4.95). They both look really cool, and are very comfortable to wear - once you put them on, you won't be able to feel them at all during the day - which is a huge plus! I also think they'd be lovely for any festivals or concerts, or just to switch up your look in the summer.

In addition to the prices being great, I think that one of the best thing about karmase7en.com is that they also offer a Buy One Get One Free service on all of their stock! Just add the items you'd like to purchase to your basket as usual, and the prices of some of the pieces will be taken off your total order - simple!

All of the jewellery also comes in individual boxes and little pots, which not only makes it secure for shipping, but also great for giving as gifts and for storing/travelling as well.

So if you're looking for some cool fake septum clickers to try the trend without committing to an actual piercing, karmase7en.com is the place to go! They also have a range of other styles and colours (from rose gold to gems) so I definitely recommend checking them out!

If you fancy having a look at some of their other jewellery, I also did a blog post on their amazing tongue bars and cartilage earrings as well, which you can check out here

WHATS IN MY BAG COLLABORATION POST

As I've mentioned many times before, I'm a little bit obsessed with handbags. Ok quite a bit obsessed, but we all have our weaknesses, right? My current favourite is the Louis Vuitton Neverfull MM because it's perfect for every day use. So since I've been using it quite a bit recently, I thought I'd show you what's inside!
To make things more interesting, I've also got two lovely guest bloggers to share the contents of their bags with you as well. They both have amazing blogs (linked below) so please don't forget to check them out!

Here's what's inside my bag:

1. Bobbi Brown face powder 2. MAC Pro longwear concealer 3. Real Techniques mini powder brush 4. Louis Vuitton clutch bag 5. Earphones 6. iPhone 7. Giorgio Armani Sì perfume 8. Alexa Chung IT book 9. 2015 planner from Paperchase 10. iPhone charger
11. Hair ties 12. Bobbi Brown lip gloss 13. Extra chewing gum 14. Soap and Glory hand sanitizer 15. Water 16. Umbrella from Jack Wills 17. Pen 18. Makeup bag from Ted Baker

Now on to my fab guest bloggers!

They say you can't judge a book by its cover, but can you judge a girl by the contents of her handbag?

I'm sure that the depths of psychoanalysis lend themselves quite nicely to the mysteries of the trusty female companion, and there's a hidden meaning to having 6 different lip products and not one mascara in your bag, but that's for you to judge, not me.

I will admit, I've removed a couple of rogue receipts and out of date Boots coupons, a bobbi pin and a hair tie, before embarking on this feature. But the rest of the contents are as you'd find them, tucked inside my handbag.

First off, let me introduce you to my latest bag. This rather lovely cobalt blue beauty has been my faithful companion since in came into my possession during some pre-Christmas shopping. I nabbed it at the crazily appealing sale price of £9 from New Look. It's a far cry from my usual leather totes and over sized shoppers, but at a fifth of the price, who was I to object?

So, here you go, this is what's inside my cobalt bag...

Large Chanel Purse / Burberry Glasses Case (containing nude BE2103 glasses) / Bottega Veneta Suede Makeup Bag / NARS Lip Gloss in Odalisque / Chanel Rogue Coco Lipstick in Chinz / Tom Ford Lipstick in True Coral / Carmex / Roger & Gallet Bois D'Orange Eua Fraiche / Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Even Finish Compact Foundation in Cool Beige / Bobbi Brown Face Touch Up Stick in Cool Beige / NARS Satin Lip Pencils in Descanso and Torres Del Paine / Charlotte Tilbury Air Brush Flawless Finish Powder in Fair / Accessorize Gold Oyster Card Holder /  Vintage 1950's Mother of Pearl Cigarette Case Used as Business Card Holder / Gold iPhone 5s in H&M Gold Case / Keys / Swarovski Crystal Pen / Crabtree & Evelyn Pomegranate Hand Cream / iPad Mini in H&M Pink Case / Pink 2015 Diary / Accessorize Pink Coin Purse / Tangle Teaser

I wonder what that says about me...

For more snippets into my life, you can find me on Instagram @emilyselixir or over at my blog: www.emilys-elixir.com

If you are like me, you love handbags. For some people it's shoes, others makeup - for me my thing is handbags. Sure…my shoe collection isn’t horrific, and my makeup collection grows nearly every day, but I find a handbag makes or breaks an outfit. Not many people will know but I am somewhat of a hoarder, so I keep, basically, everything useless in my room and especially in my bag. I have wanted to film this video for a while, and I thought as my YouTube is finally up and running I would share it with you guys! No there probably isn’t as much rubbish in here as there will be in a few weeks time, but as they say no time like the present! I used to be the sort of girl to carry around her whole makeup just in case something happened or there was a freak weather accident, but now i carry around a host of practical things…and now I just sound boring! Anyway, here is my ‘whats in my bag’ video!

A huge thank you to my lovely guest bloggers for taking part,
and as always, thank you for reading!

5 GIFT IDEAS FOR BEAUTY LOVERS

Whatever holiday you celebrate, hopefully my little series of Gift Guides, How To's and Wrapping Ideas will help you out this year!

This may be a little early for some of you, but this series will probably have quite a few parts to it so I kinda have to start now (haha I'm too excited)

Anyway... If you're stuck for ideas for the beauty lover in your life, this one's for you.

Number one is simple, but makes for a great gift. So here's the deal:

1. Get a makeup bag of your choice. I love a good MAC makeup bag, and Inglot does some pretty cool ones too, but you could always give ASOS or Urban Outfitters a search for one with a more fun and unique design.

2. Set a budget. The things you put inside the bag will depend on how much you want to spend on this gift.

3. Get a few bits and bobs to put inside the makeup bag, they can be inexpensive or higher end (or a mix of the two), but try to make a good selection - maybe include a lipstick or gloss, a blush, an eyeshadow and mascara. Alternatively, you could also go for a more focused theme e.g. a makeup bag filled with just lip products - and include a lip scrub, a lip balm, lip liner, a gloss and lipstick.

4. Consider a few extras. I like to add in some 'fun' stuff into my gifts too, maybe a lush bath ballistic, hand cream or some sweets and confetti - whatever you think suits your beauty lover most.

5. Put everything inside the bag! You could line it with some festive tissue paper first, and arrange everything nicely before closing it up!
This one is great because you can really personalise it for the receiver as well, as you're creating the gift set your self.

Number two - for those who don't like the wrapping/organising fuss, is a LUSH gift set.
There's a huge selection at various price points, so there's something for everyone. The great thing is that they come wrapped with a ribbon on top so all you have to do is the giving. Simple.

Three is another fave - Zoeva brushes. I haven't yet had a chance to try these out, but from all of the reviews I've read, they're amazing. I love the 'Classic Brush Set' which includes 8 brushes complete with a makeup bag, but if you want to go for something a bit bigger theres also the 'Makeup Artist Zoe Bag' set which includes 25 brushes and a bigger bag. Both are absolutely amazing and would make incredible gifts, but there's loads of other kits and single brushes to choose from as well.

Number four sounds a bit boring but hear me out. I think if you're really stuck on what to get, a gift card to a beauty shop like SpaceNK, Debenhams, Boots or Selfridges is a safe bet. That way, they'll definitely get something they'll love and use often!

And last but not least... number five! Every year most beauty brands come out with holiday gift sets that contain a varying number of either mini or full size products, that usually come in some sort of festive packaging as well. A quick search on any beauty website will definitely give you some ideas.

Here are some of my favourites this year that I think would make fab gifts for any beauty lover:

The Balm Auto Balm - California Face Palette // ASOS // £12.50

Eylure Lash Edit London Collection // ASOS // £12.99

'Benefits They're Real Steal' mascara + liner set // ASOS // £19.50

Dior addict lip maximiser gloss // Selfridges // £23

MAC Objects Of Affection / Pink And Plum Lip Glass Set // MAC // £26

MAC Keepsakes / Coral Lip Bag // MAC // £32

Urban Decay Ten 24/7 Eye Pencil Set // Debenhams // £35

Tom Ford lipstick // Selfridges // £37

Benefit Beauty Bonbons Christmas gift set // Debenhams // £39.50

'NARS ASOS Exclusive NARS Hearts Miami Set' // ASOS // £45

So those are all of my gift ideas for the beauty lover in your life, up next are a few Secret Santa and Smaller gift ideas, but if you can't wait until then, here's a DIY gift idea from last year!

AMAZING BODY JEWELLERY: karmase7en.com

If you've got any piercings yourself, the chances are you're basically always on the hunt for unique body jewellery pieces, so today's post is all about the online store karmase7en.com, which offers just that!

I think one of the best things about this website is that they have a Buy One Choose One Free offer on all of the jewellery, all the time! Just add everything to your basket as usual, and at the checkout the prices for some of the pieces will be taken off your total order. The shipping is affordable as well, which means it's definitely worth checking this website out! To add to that, every single piece of jewellery comes in a cute little purple box, which means they make absolutely gorgeous gifts as well!

So here's a closer look at what I got:

I'll start off with the three cartilage earrings I got. The first one is the Feather Stud Earring (£3.99)*, which is a teeny gorgeous feather earring with a ball fastening. It's very easy to put in and the ball fastening is super convenient - I haven't had any problems with it loosening or falling off. I've been wearing this particular one the longest out of the three, and I haven't had any problems with it irritating my ear at all, which is a huge bonus as usually my ears are quite sensitive.

Going along with the feather theme, I also picked out the Piercing Ring With Feather Charm (£3.95)*, which is a little hoop with a feather attached to it. This one is probably my favourite because it just looks gorgeous, and again it's very sturdy and comfortable to wear.

With this one, I chose to go to a piercing parlour to get them to put the earring in for me (I'm not so great with small fiddly things haha), but they didn't charge me anything and it only took around 3 minutes, so it was definitely worth it.

The last cartilage earring I chose was the Titanium Segment Ring (£4.95)*, and mine is in the size 1.6mm x 8mm.

This one is great if you prefer just a plain hoop without any balls or attachments, and there are also loads of different sizes available, depending on what you prefer! As I said, all of the jewellery is so comfortable to wear, so you don't have to worry about it irritating your piercings at all.

Now on to the two tongue bars!

I got the Flat Neon Green Disc Tongue Bar (£3.95)* which is very unique compared to all of the usual ball tongue bars. Because it's flat, it feels really comfortable in your mouth (a bit tmi, but it's true!) so I love wearing this one!

And the last one is probably the coolest one out of the five... the Pistol Clear Crystal Tongue Bar (£5.49)* has a little pistol on one side, and the usual ball fastening on the other. Both of the sides come off, which means that you can put the bar in any way you want which is also quite handy. I much prefer metal bars for the tongue compared to plastic, so these are both great and again I haven't had any problems with them at all.

So if you're after new body piercing jewellery, look no further! I absolutely love everything I got, so I definitely recommend checking out the karmase7en website as they have a huge range of jewellery for various different piercings.

They have just recently launched a section on body piercing and tattoo studio listings, so it might be useful to check it out here - you can even add your favourites, and it's worldwide which is also quite handy!   I'll be doing a piercing after care post soon, but if you can't wait until then, you might find their Body Piercing Cleaning and Aftercare section useful too.
